KidSkate & CanSkate

• Hockey skates OR figure skates
• Mitts or gloves
• Socks (we recommend THINNIES which are available at United Cycle)
• Snow Pants (with warm and comfortable clothes underneath, ie sweats, leggings etc)
• Water bottle (something that is easy to open with gloves or mitts on)
• CSA approved hockey helmet BIKE HELMETS are NOT permitted!

Additional items required for children who are part of Carnival:

• Black body suit
• Skating tights

JumpStart

• At this level figure skates are a MUST (we recommend United Cycle)
• Thin skating gloves
• 2 pairs of Thinnie socks (available at United Cycle)
• Sweater or jacket – NO hoodies or hooded jackets
• Water bottle
• CSA approved hockey helmet
• Comfortable skate wear, NO JEANS!. Leggings or skating dress are permitted. If wearing a skating dress or skirt please ensure that your child is also wearing tights and or leg warmers all of which can be purchased at United Cycle.

Additional items required for children who are part of Carnival:

• Black body suit
• Skating tights

PreCanPower and CanPower

• Hockey skates
• Full hockey gear including shin guards, socks, cup, hockey pants, chest protector, elbow pads, neck protector, jersey, hockey gloves, CSA approved hockey helmet and a hockey stick
• Water bottle (something that they can open with gloves on)

STARSkate & Junior

Skaters at this level will be assigned a locker and are welcome to leave their gear at the arena.

• At this level figure skates are a MUST (United Cycle has highly skilled staff who are great at fitting skates)
• 2 pairs of thin skating gloves
• Minimum 2 pairs of Thinnie socks (available at United Cycle)
• Sweater or jacket – NO hoodies or hooded jackets
• Water bottle
• Comfortable skate wear, NO JEANS!. Leggings or skating dress are permitted. If wearing a skating dress or skirt please ensure that your child is also wearing tights and or leg warmers all of which can be purchased at United Cycle.
• 1 pair of Skating tights
• Hard skate guards
• Combination lock
• A cloth or hand towel for wiping skate blades after practice
• Skating dress*

* NOTE: a skating dress is only required if your child plans to attend a skating competition or for test day.    We recommend waiting to purchase this as there often other skaters who are willing to sell or donate dresses they have outgrown.
